Drawing from a deeply personal series of events involving a particular individual, this track marks a significant milestone in Tina Halma‘s artistic evolution, blending intricate sound design with profound lyrical insight.

Self-produced in the cozy confines of her flat’s living room using Ableton Live, Gaslight came together over a couple of weeks, with the lyrics penned in just two days. The words carry a tone of direct and indirect playfulness, inviting listeners to unravel the narrative woven throughout. Every sound in the track serves a deliberate purpose, each one depicting a fragment of the story from those pivotal events. This release has been an integral part of Tina Halma‘s personal healing process, underscoring her firm belief in music’s transformative power, not only for herself but also for its profound impact on others’ lives.

While the project was largely a solo endeavour in terms of production, vocal melody and songwriting, Tina Halma collaborated with a colleague sound engineer for the final mix and master. Vocals were captured in a professional studio, ensuring a polished finish that elevates the vibe. Tina Halma‘s journey to this moment is as resilient as her music. A former global sailor who embraced a decade-long career on world-class cruise ships after initially planning just a few contracts, she has traversed the globe, living and working in regions including the Caribbean and Europe. Even amidst this wanderlust, she completed her Master’s degree in Marketing while based in Europe. Her passion for music ignited early, with piano and guitar lessons as a child and active involvement in the indie scene during her teenage years.

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Philadelphia focused on business management and performing arts, Tina Halma gained invaluable experience at indie labels, major performing arts venues and a prominent record label in New York City. Enduring challenges with bravery and determination, she has now returned to her authentic self, investing in partnerships with exceptional musicians, artists, producers and DJs who have trained her, and continue to do so.
